Stirring Creative Thoughts

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Over the years we have had many creative ideas shown to us for picture selection and wording selection that were used for our customer’s wedding save the date postcards. Here are some questions to help stir up the creative thinking juices for developing your special custom save the date postcard design:

When is the event ?

Where is the event ?

What is the color scheme ?

What kind of cake flavors or other food planned ?

What music is planned and what will be used for the first dance ?

What are the honeymoon plans ?

What happened on the first date and what were the first impressions ?

What is the silliest fight you have had ?

What is your favorite date spot ?

What is the most romantic gesture experienced ?

What are your sweetest nicknames ?

What are some things people would be surprised to know about you ?

When did you know you were meant to be a couple ?

What things did you find in common and things you found were not in common ?

You cannot fit answers to all these questions on a save the date postcard, but thinking about these questions might stir up some ideas on what you want on your cards and make it all more fun.

Enjoy…

Photo with Golden Gate Bridge

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

This couple is from the San Francisco Bay area and decided to use a photo of the two of them with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background was what they wanted for their Save the Date card.

Here is the front side of their card:

It gives a happy feeling of them looking back from a beautiful location.

According to what they have on the back side of their save the date card, they are looking for a response to help them plan how many formal invitation they will need for their wedding.

That is another good use of Save the Dates.

Photos on both sides

Friday, February 20th, 2009

When creating a save the date postcard, you may have two photos you want to use. You can have your card printed with a photo on the front and a different photo printed on the back.

Here is a couple’s save the date card in which they did just that:

front save the date photo postcard

front save the date photo postcard

backside of save the date photo postcard with photo

backside of save the date photo postcard with photo

Think about doing this when both photos are just too important in not include in creating the expression you want for your special card.
