Your save the date cards will create the first impression regarding the style of your wedding. You will want your cards to reflect your personality and theme of your wedding plans. Save the date cards for weddings do not require exceptionally formal wording. On the front most just use a Save the Date title alone, or a Save the Date heading accompanied with the date. Then on the back or inside of the card they give greater details that answers questions like:

– What is it for ?
– Who is it for ?
– When is it for ?
– Where is it happening ?

If you remember the primary reason a Save-the-Date card is needed is to give those people you want to invite to your matrimony an early announcement of your plans so they can have as much time as achievable to make arrangements to attend. It is a proper way for you to announce your engagement and establish your time frame.

If after meeting those primary reasons you still have room on the card for more information and you want to put more, then you might add:

1. An RSVP request with phone number or email.
2. A web site URL with more details about your wedding.
3. Some poetry sentiment that you like.
4. Let them know another formal invitation will be coming.

Here are a few samples of what some folks have put on their Save the Date cards:

***
Save the Date

If you would like to browse through more than a 100 Save the Date cards, there is a link on the following web page that pops up a browsing slide show window:

http://www.galleriaventures.com/postcardweb/o/savethedateindex.htm

Or here is the actual Save the Date slide show link for browsing over 100 card designs:

http://www.galleriaventures.com/postcardweb/wedding/slides_savethedate/index.php

By browsing through the many variations you will see that each couple tries to create their own unique feeling for the announcement of their arrangements. Some want to be more conventional, some want to be casual, and some want to add some humor. It is important that your design gets some attention and sets the tone for the rest of your wedding.

Making a save the date design that will be cool, unique and personalized to reflect the style of your wedding is not difficult. It is probably one of the easiest things you will do in planning your wedding. It is important to not delay long in designing and getting your save the dates out so you can maximize the planning time of invitees. Have fun kicking off the first impressions of the style of your wedding in creating your save the dates.
